Background
Ashley Johnson, also known as DJ A-List, is a DJ and Entrepreneur based in Los Angeles. Born and raised in Detroit, MI, Ashley always had a passion for music and connecting people together via social gatherings. Upon finishing college with a B.S. in Accounting, Ashley was relocated to Minneapolis to work for a Fortune 500 company. While in Minneapolis, Ashley became one of Minneapolis’s premiere event planners for creative and diverse professionals between the ages of 22 and 40. With the launch of two successful businesses, Ashley produced various events that were sponsored by companies such as Target & Uptown Magazine.
Ashley then relocated to Philadelphia to work for JP Morgan Chase, where she became inspired by Philadelphia’s deep roots in art and music, and thus DJ A-List was born. DJ A-List's "open format" style allows her to cover events with a diverse audience. By leveraging client relationships with organizations such as Live Nation, The University of Pennsylvania, NBC, and Aloft Hotels, DJ A-List has grown a reputable business, working over 200 events along the east coast.
Ashley holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson with a focus on entrepreneurship and entertainment management. While in school Ashley worked as a Consultant for Ernst and Young Parthenon and Opus United, a marketing agency started by former CMO of Beats by Dre, Omar Johnson. Ashley has over 8 years of experience around analytics and business development within the financial services and entertainment industry. She is a creative problem solver who knows how to not only develop strategy for an organization, but also, drive efficiency through execution. While her accounting and consulting experience has made herproficient in data and analytics, her experience in guerrilla marketing and cultural insights has made her well equipped to cultivate a robust strategy to drive industry growth.
